The NLN Board comprises 8 members, one Director from each NLN Member State and Territory. The Chair and Vice-Chair are appointed from within their numbers. The Board is not representative, rather its function is to administer and direct the activities of the NLN.
The Members Council is the representative heart of the NLN and is comprised of 24 grassroots Landcarers, 3 from each State and Territory. The Board and Members Council work independently of each other but in constant collaboration with high levels of consultation and feedback between each.
The Board and Members Council are supported by a small dedicated team including the Transition Manager, Darryl Ebenezer and support staff.

The Members’ Council provides the national representative forum for the identification, evaluation, debate and resolution of issues for Community Landcare across Australia. The Council is responsible for establishing a system for regular consultation and engagement of members and stakeholders in order to represent the majority of Landcare and related organisations in their respective states and territories.
The Board of Directors is informed by the Members Council and input from the states and territories and provides the strategic and administrative direction for the National Landcare Network.
The Members Council provides the National Representative Policy Forum for Community Landcare across Australia.
All 8 State & Territory peak Landcare bodies, who are the members of the National Landcare Network, nominate outstanding individuals to the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors is informed by the Members Council on matters of Landcare Policy.
The Board then provides the strategic and administrative direction for the National Landcare Network.
Landcare strives to walk together with First Nations Custodians respecting their knowledge, skills and responsibilities in land and sea management and their role in leading the planning and caring for Country and community across Australia. Their lands were never ceded. The National Landcare Network supports all aspects of the Uluru Statement from the Heart - Voice, Truth and Treaty.
