Landcare Communities Converge, Converse and Celebrate!

Landcare advocates and enthusiasts came together earlier this month to share a meal, discuss their Landcare journeys and celebrate a milestone event recognising First Nations intellectual property rights through the signing of a Treaty at Parliament House. The informal gathering included international visitors with Global Landcare, and other guests from Landcare Victoria, Landcare NSW, Landcare ACT, the National Landcare Network, First Nations artist and advocate Bibi Barba and long-time Landcarer, Jen Quealy.

Biosecurity is the management of risks posed to Australia’s economy, environment and communities by pests, diseases and weeds entering, establishing, and spreading in Australia. This annual event will highlight the collaborative efforts of government, industry, and the community in protecting our environment, food security, and our way of life.

2022 Scientific Consensus Statement Released This Week

Yesterday The 2022 Scientific Consensus Statement - the most comprehensive review of land-based impacts on the water quality and ecosystem health of the Great Barrier Reef - was released. This significant piece of research was developed over two years (2022–2024) with over 200 experts including 147 authors and reviewers from Australia and overseas and will be a key document for making decisions about managing Great Barrier Reef water quality.
